my Self

My husband, David, and I had been trying to have a baby since November of 2007. After 'letting things happen', we got the amazing news that we were pregnant in June of 2008. Sadly, that pregnancy ended at 9 weeks with a natural miscarriage. After two more chemical pregnancies, we turned to fertility treatments in 2009. That decision was a disaster, with lousy medical care and poor monitoring. In December of 2009, we made the huge decision to move onto IVF. Things fell into place like magic and we began treatment on January 15, 2010. After a blighted ovum in March, we did a successful FET in June, only to endure another blighted ovum in July. We kept up and underwent another IVF in September/October of 2010 with the arrival of our son, Brogan in July of 2011! After our lovely success (finally) we decided to undertake yet another IVF treatment and hope for a sibling for our little red headed boy. Well... so far it's worked. Our story continues below!

I'm Back

Or at least I will be.  Updating soon.  Things are on the move again.  Climbing yet a little higher but with all these scars I'd hardly feel another fall down the rocky slope - I'm giddy with fear-filled abandon.

Got dates.  Got times.  Got a knot in my stomach.

Oh, and hosting a baby shower this afternoon.  Full of new babies and even a pregnant belly on the guest list.  Proud of me?  I'm trying so hard...!

  1. Welcome back, Sonya ... I missed you! Proud of you doesn't even begin to describe how amazed I am by your strength to throw a baby shower ... wow, I never was able to do something like that, you are a stronger person than I could ever be. I am SO hopeful for this time around for you. You are in my prayers! *hugs*

  2. Not to sound insensitive or crass, I know hanging out with preggers is uncomfortable but if you do it long enough you can catch the 'cooties' Sounds superstitious and dumb but I swear thats how I ended up with Buster...after being told I would NEVER have children and four years of being 100% completely unsafe I helped a friend plan a wedding and unbeknownst to her or I she was 3 months along. I am convinced I got her 'cooties'! I'm posting this as anonymous because I don't know waht those other options mean (silly blonde) but I know you know who I am :)

  6. Hey Sonya! I have been missing your posts and updates! Looking forward to hearing about your next cycle!

Anonymous #1 - I am sorry but that myth is a lie and you have been misinformed! I am glad you ended up with a bundle of joy but I hold babies as often as I can and no "baby" cooties have hit me yet.

Thinking of you Sonya. You were so strong to host a baby shower!
